Amazon Seller Feedback Update 2025

Amazon will officially roll out its simplified seller feedback system on August 4, 2025, allowing buyers to leave star-only ratings without writing any accompanying text. This update aims to streamline the customer feedback experience while still offering insight into buyer satisfaction levels.

While the new system is expected to boost feedback volume due to its ease of use, it introduces a challenge for sellers: star-only reviews can no longer be appealed through the Feedback Manager. Instead, if a seller believes a rating violates Amazon’s feedback guidelines (e.g., related to fulfillment or product review misuse), they must now use the “Report a Violation” tool within Seller Central.

Amazon believes this change will reduce friction in the buyer feedback process, but many sellers worry it could lead to unfair or uncontextualized ratings that impact account health or Buy Box eligibility.

To adapt, sellers should closely monitor their feedback reports, identify trends, and focus on proactive customer service to reduce the likelihood of negative ratings. It’s also a good time to educate teams on using the new reporting system and responding effectively to changes in customer behavior.
