Walmart has announced several significant changes to its Marketplace operations as part of a broader push to improve buyer experience and crack down on non-compliant sellers. As of Q3 2025, Walmart is strictly enforcing identity verification and product category compliance. Thousands of listings, particularly in beauty, health, personal care, pet products, and dietary supplements, have been automatically removed due to violations related to ingredient standards and documentation.
In addition, Walmart has replaced its previous delivery score with a new “Shipping Score” metric that evaluates how quickly and cost-effectively sellers fulfill orders. To remain in the Pro Seller Badge program, sellers must now offer free expedited shipping (1–2 days) on a minimum percentage of their catalog.
These policy enhancements come as Walmart continues to scale its Marketplace, which has added over 44,000 new sellers in the first five months of 2025 alone. While the platform’s growth presents major opportunities, sellers must ensure their listings, shipping capabilities, and documentation remain fully compliant or risk account suspension or reduced visibility.
